Printable Project Checklist | Fall One Room Challenge | Week Two

Hello again friends! This past week has been a little bit chaotic. I'm a mom before anything else, and mom duty called. It called at 1AM the other night to be specific. Nothing can wake a parent up faster than your child standing next to your bed in the middle of the night uttering the phrase, "Mommy, I don't feel good". I'll spare you the details, but I've done about 50 loads of laundry in the past 72 hours. Yay! Needless to say, I didn't make much progress on my One Room Challenge this week. I do have some details to share with you on our paint and flooring choices, but first I have a little something for you! (In case you missed it, you can catch up on Week One here!)

Confession time: I am not an organized person. I love to be organized, but the process of getting organized is a challenge for me. One of the things that helps me to stay on track is keeping to-do lists. I might not ever do any of the things on my list, but it helps me to write my thoughts out on paper and see them in writing. I finally have a little project binder that I put together with my crazy ideas, and shopping lists, and project to-do's. I was getting tired of random pieces of paper floating around my house! I came up with this printable list so I can keep track of things a little better.

I added one of my favorite Anne quotes to it (I'm sure you know by now I'm a huge Anne of Green Gables fan!), but really how perfect is this quote for a bit of project inspiration?!

"It's delightful when your imaginations come true, isn't it?" L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

We didn't get much done this week since we were dealing with sick kids, but I thought I'd share a little about the paint and flooring that we updated the space with.

One Room Challenge Update Office Paint and Flooring

Paint: We painted the entire house the same color when we moved in last year - at the time it was easier and faster to just pick one color and be done with it. I also wanted the house to flow, and with all the choppy colors that the house was painted in when we purchased it, we needed a fresh start to make it feel like our own. I'm still happy with the color choice, and I feel like it's a nice neutral. Sometimes it takes on more gray tones, and depending on the time of day and lighting, it looks more tan.

Colors

Wall Color: Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore
Trim Color: Swiss Coffee by Kelly-Moore Paints
Inside of Closet: To Be Determined!

For the office, we will be painting the inside of the closet a darker color. We don't have a color choice just yet, but I'm kind of leaning towards just using blackboard/chalkboard paint. Hmmm...do we go with a traditional school green-ish chalkboard, or black?

Flooring: I fell in love with our flooring when we went to look at samples...I pretty much knew right away that was the one I wanted. I'm still as happy with it now as I was then, almost one year later. We are very happy with the quality of the flooring, the durability, and overall the look and style. With 2 kids and 2 cats, we aren't very gentle on the floor, and we live life out on it. I'm happy to report that I haven't noticed any scratches, it resists water damage (and in our house spills happen often), and it is easy to clean. I usually run the vacuum a few times a week to keep the dust and dirt away, and use this floor cleaner with a microfiber mop once a week.

Next week I'm planning to have the inside of the closet painted, and maybe/hopefully some shelving installed! I'm also hoping to get started on painting the vintage desk I'll be using in the space.

I have a busy week ahead! Here's to hoping the stomach bug is GONE from our home for the rest of the ORC (or forever...), and everyone stays healthy.
