The CSB Study Bible For Women Review

I have a confession. I have a bad habit of not reading my bible everyday! I know I should and could do better. I can come up with a million excuses why, but basically it's because I let other things get in the way when that should be the most important thing on my to-do list! If I'm being truly honest with myself and with you, I make excuses because it's really hard for me to focus on what I'm reading sometimes. Busy moms don't have all the time in the world to sit and ponder...one of these days in life I'm sure I'll have the extra time, but today is not that day! It's just the season of life I'm in. And ya know what? That's OK. Even a quick 5 minutes is better than nothing. I've found that some Bible translations are cumbersome to read. Who talks with all the "thous" and "thus" in 2018? (If you do, that's totally cool! Just not my thing!) That's why I was so excited to try out The Study Bible For Women. (keep on reading for my honest review!)

The CSB Study Bible For Women is written with the CSB translation. As I mentioned, translation is everything when you're looking for a Bible to read (at least for me!). I really like how the CSB translation (Christian Standard Bible) is so readable.  I love that I can sit down for 5 minutes in the morning with my coffee, open up the bible and just read. No internet searching for the definition of this or that. (You know you do it too!) While the CSB translation is very readable and easy to understand, it still stays true to the literal meaning of the scripture, so the meaning hasn't been watered down at all.

One of my favorite features of The CSB Study Bible For Women is the "Word Study" sections at the bottom of the pages. I have found it helpful for a more in depth study. The Word Study highlights a specific word and defines it for you, and also gives different biblical references. For the times that you aren't doing a devotional book or Bible study, having a few extra little things readily available really enhances the quick 5 minutes when you don't have time for more.

We all like pretty things, right? This is going to sound so silly and trivial, but having a pretty Bible makes it really enjoyable to open it up! The Study Bible For Women comes in a Hardcover or Leather option. I was given the hardcover, and I absolutely LOVE that it is a turquoise, cream, and gold color combo! The hardcover has a pretty linen on it, and feels like a sturdy book.

The inside pages have a cheerful floral design throughout the chapters, and almost has a journal feel to it.

In the front of The Study Bible For Women, there are a few pages that have a place to write out your family tree, family milestones, etc. I am not the best at writing down important milestones, but maybe I will get better now that I have a place to do it? There is also a "How To Study The Bible" section with great reminders and tips. The CSB Bible also highlights "All The Women In The Bible" in the concordance section, of course!
