How To Make A Simple and Easy Farmhouse Christmas Wreath

Hi Friends! It's already that time of the year. What?! How is it that the holiday season is already here? I don't want to rush you past Fall and Thanksgiving (one of my favorites!), but since we're almost a full week into November, it's time to start thinking about those Christmas decor projects.

I thought I'd share with you how to make a simple farmhouse Christmas wreath. I'm also teaming up with 26 other bloggers to bring you a ton of holiday inspiration in the coming weeks!

Let's get started!

How To Make A Simple and Easy Farmhouse Christmas Wreath

I haven't fully committed to my decor scheme just yet, but I'm leaning towards a simple "farmhouse" Christmas. I found this large faux evergreen wreath at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas clearance last year. It was marked down to - wait for it - $3.00!!! I know, right?! They only had one in the lonely Christmas Clearance aisle, otherwise I would have loved to have bought more. It pays to check those clearance aisles sometimes!

You will need...

- A faux wreath (like this one)
- Ribbon (I used this)
- Hot Glue
- Twine
- Dollar Store Tray
- Chalkboard Paint

Step 1:

If your wreath has been packed away (ie: shoved into a closet with the other Christmas decorations), you'll want to fluff the branches out to help it look full.

Step 2:

Attach your ribbon. I used a little bit of hot glue for this step to give it a little bit of added security. Once the end of the ribbon was secure, I used twine to tie the rest of the ribbon on. As I tied the ribbon on, I "fluffed" the branches around the tied part to hide the twine. I used hot glue again to finish off and secure the ribbon.

Step 3:

For the chalkboard, I used a Dollar Tree tray and some chalkboard paint. A little hot glue on the back to secure the twine, and that's all!

Step 4:

Hang the wreath on a door hanger (or however you like to hang your door wreaths). I hung the chalkboard after the wreath was hung. I didn't attach the chalkboard to the wreath, you can tie it on if you prefer.

That's all there is to it! I'm happy with how my wreath turned out. I kind of want to hang it over the fireplace now, instead of the front door!
